Installation Considerations
Waterproof flooring install needs three things right:
- Substrate flatness within 3mm/2m.
- Moisture-checked screed before laying.
- Sealed silicone perimeter in wet zones.
For full wet rooms (bathrooms with floor drains), we install coved-skirting sheet vinyl — the carpet is welded up the wall 100mm, creating a tray-shape that channels water to the drain.
Care & Maintenance
All waterproof flooring shares simple care:
- Daily soft sweep or vacuum.
- Weekly damp mop with neutral pH cleaner.
- Wipe spills immediately even though the floor is waterproof.
- Avoid bleach and ammonia on vinyl surfaces.

Waterproof Flooring Questions Answered
Seamless sheet vinyl with heat-welded joints is the most truly waterproof flooring you can install. SPC and LVT planks come a close second: their core is 100% waterproof. For full wet rooms with floor drains, sealed-seam sheet vinyl or large-format porcelain tile remains the gold standard.
Both have 100% waterproof cores. SPC is slightly more dimensionally stable around water spills because its rigid stone-polymer core barely moves. Both are excellent for kitchens, laundries and powder rooms.
Yes — with the right product and a sealed perimeter. SPC, LVT and homogeneous sheet vinyl all work. We recommend silicone perimeter sealing and a slight fall to a floor drain. Standard click-laminate is NOT suitable for bathrooms.
Waterproof flooring (SPC, LVT, sheet vinyl, porcelain) cannot be damaged by water — the material itself doesn't absorb moisture. Water-resistant flooring (Hydro/Aqua laminate) has wax-coated edges that resist surface water for 24–72 hours but will eventually swell if soaked.
LVT click waterproof flooring from AED 55/m² installed. SPC waterproof flooring AED 60–145/m². Heterogeneous commercial vinyl AED 95–140/m². Homogeneous safety vinyl AED 130–180/m². Most Dubai apartments land at AED 75–110/m² fitted.
