Parquet is a pattern, not a material. We offer it in four constructions — each with different price, warranty and use cases.
- Engineered Oak: Real-wood top layer (3–6mm), plywood base. Best for Dubai climate. AED 240–600/m².
- Solid Oak Blocks: Full-thickness 18mm hardwood. Refinishable 5–7 times. Ground-floor villas. AED 380+/m².

Parquet — The Pattern Floor
Parquet was invented in 1684 for the Palace of Versailles — a hand-cut oak alternative to the marble floors that were rotting the supporting joists. Three and a half centuries later, the same patterns still define the most beautiful interiors in the world.
In Dubai, we install parquet for the same reason Louis XIV did — because it elevates a room from “finished” to “considered”. Whether in a 60m² Downtown apartment or a 600m² Emirates Hills villa, the right parquet pattern transforms the perception of space, light and craftsmanship.
Six Classical Patterns
1. Herringbone
The Dubai default. Planks meet at 90°. Suits 80% of apartments and villas.
2. Chevron
Angled 45° cuts meet at a sharp vertex. More modern, more directional.
3. Versailles
Pre-assembled hand-finished panels with classical motif borders. For grand entryways and dining rooms.
4. Brick Bond
Wide-plank format laid with offset joints. Clean and contemporary.
5. Basket Weave
Square modules creating a woven illusion. Hugely popular in dining rooms.
6. Mosaic
Small finger-block patterns in dark/light contrast. Statement entrances.
How Much Parquet Costs
- AED 95–140/m² — laminate parquet, AC4 HDF core, herringbone or chevron.
- AED 125–180/m² — SPC parquet, waterproof rigid core.
- AED 240–380/m² — engineered European oak, 4mm lamella.
- AED 380–600/m² — designer wide-plank, bespoke finishes, Versailles panels.
Parquet Installation Process
Parquet installation is more skilled than straight-plank because the pattern must align perfectly from the room’s visual focal point. The day breaks down as:
- Centre-line layout drawn from primary focal point.
- Symmetry preserved at doors and openings.
- Pre-machined L/R packs laid alternately.
- Click or glue-down depending on construction.
- Skirting, transitions, snag walk, written warranty.
Parquet Care
Parquet care is identical to plank care — pattern doesn’t change behaviour:
- Daily soft sweep or vacuum on parquet setting.
- Weekly wrung microfibre damp mop with neutral wood cleaner.
- Never standing water, vinegar, steam mops or oil soaps.
- Re-oil every 12–18 months on oiled engineered parquet.

Parquet Flooring Questions Answered
Parquet is a decorative wood-flooring style in which individual blocks or planks are arranged into geometric patterns — herringbone, chevron, Versailles, basket-weave, brick-bond and more. Traditionally made from solid oak blocks; modern parquet is overwhelmingly engineered hardwood, laminate or SPC for Dubai climate stability.
Herringbone is the runaway favourite in Dubai — it suits both classic and contemporary interiors. Chevron is the more modern alternative. Wide-plank (1:7 ratio) suits double-height living rooms; Versailles panels suit grand entryways and dining rooms in villas.
Parquet is typically 15–35% more expensive than the same wood in straight-plank format. The premium covers smaller block size, left/right machining for herringbone/chevron, and higher labour content. Engineered oak parquet starts from AED 240/m² installed; laminate parquet from AED 95/m².
Engineered parquet — yes, up to 27°C surface temperature. Solid wood parquet — no. SPC and laminate parquet — yes, most ranges.
Pre-finished engineered parquet: 2–4 days for a 100m² apartment. Site-finished solid block parquet: 6–10 days including sanding, staining and lacquering. Laminate or SPC parquet: 2–3 days.
Properly installed engineered or solid parquet lasts 30–50 years and can be sanded multiple times. Laminate and SPC parquet carry 20–25 year residential warranties. Parquet is no less durable than straight-plank flooring — the pattern is purely visual.
Soft sweep or vacuum daily, damp microfibre mop weekly with neutral wood-floor cleaner. Never use steam mops, vinegar or all-purpose cleaners on wood parquet.
