Acoustic Compliance For Tower Gyms
Dubai Municipality requires impact-noise reduction certification for any commercial gym installed above ground floor in residential or mixed-use towers. Get this wrong and the gym gets shut down within months of opening.

Gym Flooring Questions Answered
It depends on the activity zone. Free-weight and deadlift zones need 30–40mm dense recycled-rubber tiles. Cardio zones need 8–15mm rubber rolls. Studios need 6–10mm EPDM sheet vinyl. Sprint tracks need 15–18mm dual-density sprint rubber. We specify each zone separately.
4–6mm: light cardio only. 8–10mm: residential home gyms. 12–15mm: light commercial gyms. 20–30mm: heavy free-weight zones. 40–50mm: Olympic deadlift platforms.
Light commercial 8–10mm rubber rolls: AED 95–140/m². Heavy commercial 15mm tiles: AED 160–220/m². Dual-density 20mm cross-training: AED 220–280/m². EPDM 8mm: AED 180–260/m². PU sprint track 15–18mm: AED 320–500/m².
Rolls give a seamless visual and faster install. Tiles make replacement easier and allow per-zone colour coding. Both available in 6–50mm thicknesses.
Quality recycled-rubber commercial: 10–15 years. Home gym: 15–20 years. EPDM coloured-fleck: carries 10-year warranties and outlasts the equipment. Sprint tracks: 8–10 years.
